Indie Go-Go Fundraising Campaign

Our Story

We are a group of independent filmmakers making a western feature film.  Our production crew is trying to do something on a scale that no one else has ever attempted before!  We are shooting our film on 35mm anamorphic 100% on location in Montana.

Our film is a historically accurate period piece about a bandit named Jonathan who decides to give up his life of crime and return to his sister’s homestead.  However, try as he might, Jonathan can’t escape his past when his other bandits track him down to exact retribution.

The Impact

We are attempting a film on a scale that has never been attempted on a site like this ever before.  We are shooting on 35mm anamorphic film to give us the iconic wide-screen western look. Our team is working hard to make a period film with authentic sets, costumes and realistic details showing what life was really like on the classic Montana homestead.

What We Need & What You Get

We are trying to raise $500,000 to use as development funds to help match potential investors for the film.

However, our goal is not just simply monetary.  We are trying to use this campaign to build a fan base and raise awareness for the project.  We are attempting a grass-roots marketing campaign so that we can compete with big-budget studio pictures when we complete the film.

About

American Homestead is an independent feature film project set in Montana in the early 1900s.

It tells the story of a brother and sister as they try to make their way in early 20th century Montana. She is a single woman proving up her homestead, while her older brother is trying to escape the lawless life he has led for over a decade. When a struggling laborer and his motherless child join the small family as hired hands, the stage is set for the settlers to find their place on the cusp between two centuries.

American Homestead is brought to you by Distant Thunder Films in association with Grant Larson Productions.
